Gettin' My Craft On

This is a scrapbook I made my sister, Claire, for Christmas. I love these Tim Holtz Grungboard Books. So fun to distress, paint, embellish, etc... on another note, Monday is over! Hooray! I am skipping my Pilates class,but I did manual labor all day so it's OK. Plus the weather here is yucky. Wintry Mix is the worst kind of mix there is.

Creative Space

I told myself I was going to spend time in my little studio space this weekend making stuff. That didn't happen. Aside from being busy I wasn't feeling too creative this weekend. I started thinking it might be because my space looks crowded and messy. I'm thinking some organization and cleaning are in order. But I don't really like organizing or cleaning. Such is life. I'm thinking some new paint colors(turquoise and red?) and some drapes to cover the closet (i.e. Penny's kitty litter room) Here are some pics of the room now, and hopefully soon I'll have some after pics of a brand new studio space!

So Monday I go back to work after a long and relaxing 10 days off. I have a tendency to let work take over my life and not really get much else done. This year one of my goals is to make time to be creative, to make things, even if I'm the only one who thinks what I make is cool or good enough, it's the act of making that I really enjoy. So heres to finding balance in the new year, making time for whatever it is you like to do and maybe some days just curling up on the couch and watching t.v. because that's o.k. too.

Thank you 2010. Last year was a crazy year for us, I graduated college, got a job, Ryan and I both got laid off, both got new jobs. There were new additions in the family, and a passing. Good times , bad times, friends, music, laughing, some crying but mostly laughing.
